Madigan Wilentz, MFT Intern
SHE/HER
Drexel Masters Student in Marriage and Family Therapy
My path to becoming a marriage and family therapist has been shaped by curiosity, resilience, and a deep desire to support people in their relationships. Growing up, I witnessed how trauma, mental health challenges, and substance use can impact individuals and families, which sparked my passion for working with clients who have faced similar struggles. These early experiences, combined with my academic background in psychology, led me to pursue a systemic, relational approach to healing.

Before beginning my graduate training, I explored clinical and research roles that deepened my understanding of attachment, interpersonal dynamics, and the impact family systems have on emotional well-being. I also worked in ABA therapy, where I gained valuable experience supporting children and families and developed a strong foundation in documentation, treatment planning, and collaborative care. Across each role, I found myself returning to the same belief: healing happens when people feel supported, understood, and empowered to make sense of their patterns.

In my work, I take a trauma-informed, holistic, and empathetic approach. I believe therapy helps people change by giving them the tools to understand their experiences, build healthier communication patterns, and transform challenges into strengths. I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, families, children, and adolescents, as well as clients navigating substance use, trauma, women’s issues, and LGBTQIA+ identities. I welcome clients navigating infidelity and affair repair. I also work with clients in non-traditional or non-monogamous relationship structures, including swinging, polyamory, and open relationships. My goal is to create a warm, collaborative space where clients can rebuild trust, strengthen relationships, and move toward meaningful change.

I am a cisgender, agnostic woman and an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. As a Brooklyn native who has lived in several regions of the U.S., I bring cultural attunement and an appreciation for diverse worldviews to my work. I strive to help clients feel safe, respected, and supported—no matter their background or lived experience.

Outside the therapy room, I find joy in music, collecting vinyl, attending EDM shows, painting, and crafting. I also enjoy working as a barista and practicing latte art. Cycling, yoga, Pilates, time in nature, and mindfulness practices help keep me grounded and connected.
