GROUP THERAPY

In a group setting, you can connect with individuals who understand your journey and can provide a unique perspective. Group therapy challenges you to step out of your comfort zone, take risks, and experiment with new behaviors in a safe and supportive environment. This gives you the opportunity to grow and increase your self-confidence in a safe place.

Benefits of Group Therapy

Shared Support

Interacting with others who have similar experiences creates a sense of belonging and validation. Gain comfort and strength knowing you're not alone.

Multiple Perspectives

Group members offer diverse viewpoints and insights, providing you with fresh perspectives and alternative solutions to your challenges based on their lived experiences.

Feedback and Support

Group members provide constructive feedback, encouragement, and support, fostering personal development and resilience while teaching you compassion.

Increased Self Awareness

Through interactions with others, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your specific patterns of behavior, and the impact you have on others which can lead to personal growth.

Skill Development

Group counseling provides a platform to develop essential skills, such as effective communication, active listening, empathy, and self-expression. These skills can positively impact both personal and professional relationships.

Normalization

Group counseling helps you realize that your struggles and concerns are shared by others with similar experiences and feelings. This helps normalize your experiences and reducing feelings of isolation.

Take steps towards personal transformation and growth with group support.

Joining a group can be a transformative step in your path towards personal well-being. Embrace the opportunity to connect with others, gain valuable insights, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and positive change.

  • What if I just need to vent - is that therapy?
Venting is normal human behavior but it’s not part of therapy. While client autonomy is extrememly important, therapy isn’t just a place to vent where you want someone to provide feedback or suggestions and guidance. While everyone’s needs are different, therapy is great for tackling hard areas of your life that are hindering you from moving forward and growing as a person.
  • My last therapist was awful, why should I try it again?
Sometimes it takes a while to find the right therapist - it can be a lot of trial and error. That’s why we aim to match you with a therapist that will be good fit for you and your needs. Therapy is different for everyone. We try to strike a balance with my clients where we may push those who are complacent and allow space for people who are too hard on themselves. Your mental health provider should be flexible in their approach and we try to do exactly that with each client.
