INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

When you’re struggling with anxiety and depression, it can take a toll on every aspect of your life. Having an individual therapist by your side can be empowering and powerful. Working with me, you get to be in charge as you explore your own needs and desires. Your autonomy is extremely important to us, so let’s make the uncomfortable comfortable as you grow.

Common Areas Explored in Individual Therapy

Anxiety & Depression

Address and manage anxiety and depression to improve your overall well-being.

Dissatisfaction with Life

Explore and navigate the areas of your life causing dissatisfaction to create change.

Life Transitions

Changes in your life can wreak havoc on your mental health. Learn to grow from them.

Trauma

Get guidance through the process of healing from past trauma or pain with tools to release and move forward with your life.

Relationshp Issues

Sometimes overcoming relationship issues start with learning the role you play in it. Explore how your past may affect your relationships.

Self Identity

Dig deep to understand why you struggle with your identity and self sabotage to uncover your true self with a clear sense of purpose.

Therapy is a different experience for everyone.

Having an individual therapist by your side can be very powerful and empowering - especially if you’ve had negative experiences with therapy. But the therapy experience is as unique as you are. When you work with me, you get a space where you’re in charge but there’s balance. You won’t feel pushed into doing anything you don’t want to do but therapy is a place to make the uncomfortable comfortable and vice versa so you can find relief as you navigate your self-discovery journey.

About Us

We're committed to providing you with a safe and nurturing space that allows you to grow and heal. Get to know the Waterloo Therapy Group to see if we're a good fit for your mental health needs.

  • Where are you located?
Waterloo Therapy Group is located in Philadelphia and while our clients are mostly from the Philadelphia-area, we accept patients from all over Pennsylvania.
  • Are your sessions virtual or in-person?
We offer limited in-person sessions at our office in Center City Philadelphia, however most sessions may be virtual. See our blog post about Online vs. In-Person Therapy for more information.
  • What are your rates?
We accept Aetna, Highmark (Blue Cross Blue Shield), and Quest insurance, however not all insurance plans cover mental health services with our providers. We are not Medicaid or Medicare providers. Please contact your insurance company to understand more about your coverage with our group and if teletherapy is covered. They may ask for information about us: our NPI number is 1972374585, our EIN is 874185062, and the CPT codes are 90791 and 90837. We do not participate in EAP programs. For more information about private pay rates, see our Rates & Fees page. See our blog post about Insurance vs. Private Pay for more information.
  • What if I just need to vent - is that therapy?
Venting is normal human behavior but it’s not part of therapy. While client autonomy is extrememly important, therapy isn’t just a place to vent where you want someone to provide feedback or suggestions and guidance. While everyone’s needs are different, therapy is great for tackling hard areas of your life that are hindering you from moving forward and growing as a person.
  • My last therapist was awful, why should I try it again?
Sometimes it takes a while to find the right therapist - it can be a lot of trial and error. That’s why we aim to match you with a therapist that will be good fit for you and your needs. Therapy is different for everyone. We try to strike a balance with my clients where we may push those who are complacent and allow space for people who are too hard on themselves. Your mental health provider should be flexible in their approach and we try to do exactly that with each client.
