Pascale Dols, MFT Intern

THEY/THEM

Drexel Masters Student in Marriage and Family Therapy

My experiences with identity exploration, shifting family dynamics, and grief shape my approach to therapy, which centers on seeing the whole person—including the parts still taking shape. Growing up, I navigated a complex coming-out process and witnessed firsthand how families respond to change and loss. These experiences sparked my curiosity about how relationships, life transitions, and challenges influence not just individuals, but entire family systems. Over time, that curiosity became a commitment to helping others navigate these transitions with gentleness, inclusive support, and compassion. I’m especially interested in uncovering the relational connections that foster growth and resilience.

Healing happens in context—not in isolation. This is why I’m especially drawn to systemic work, which allows us to look at both the larger context and the small, intimate moments that shape who we are. Whether clients are navigating life transitions, rebuilding after loss, or working through patterns that no longer serve them, therapy provides a space to feel understood, validated, and accompanied in the process. I believe that change begins with feeling safe enough to be seen—and grows through curiosity, consistency, and the willingness to explore new ways of relating to oneself and others.

My clinical interests include working with individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, grief and loss, identity development, and the challenges that come with major life changes. I enjoy supporting clients as they explore questions of belonging, confidence, communication, and self-compassion. I provide gender-affirming, LGBTQIA+ inclusive care, while grounding my work in meeting clients where they are—regardless of background, identity, or relationship structure. My goal is to provide a space where clients can feel supported, step into their power, and be fully authentic, drawing on both their inner resources and the support around them.

As a queer, non-binary, second-generation French American, I bring a culturally attuned, identity-aware lens to my work as a Philadelphia-based therapist, while remaining committed to serving a diverse client community. I strive to center self-compassion, body awareness, and realistic expectations in therapy, helping clients cultivate meaningful change without overwhelming themselves. As an artist, I value incorporating creativity in ways that feel comfortable and meaningful to clients, providing flexible opportunities to explore emotions, reflect on experiences, and connect with personal insights.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy film photography, crocheting, climbing, and immersing myself in nature through hiking and swimming. For self-care, I slow down: cooking long, vegetarian meals, taking quiet walks, and spending unhurried time with friends.
