Marriage and Family Therapist in Pennsylvania
I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be honest, take risks, and explore parts of yourself you may have learned to hide. Growing up in a family affected by alcohol, I often felt responsible for managing the needs and emotions of those around me. My own experience in therapy showed me the value of having someone walk alongside you through uncertainty without trying to take over the process. That experience ultimately drew me to becoming a marriage and family therapist.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, family conflict, behavioral concerns, and relationship difficulties. I have extensive experience in community mental health and have worked with many diverse families. When helpful, I also collaborate with caregivers, schools, medical providers, and other professionals to create a broader system of support.
My work is grounded in Narrative therapy, and I also draw from Structural Family Therapy, play-based approaches, somatic awareness, and emotionally focused interventions. Together, we can explore the stories, relationships, and family patterns that have shaped your life while identifying opportunities to respond differently. My style is warm, encouraging, and adaptable. I can be direct and honest when that is helpful, and gentler when you need more space to move at your own pace.
I am especially passionate about working with children who feel pressured to stay quiet, manage other people’s emotions, or appear “fine.” I want young people to have a space where they can express their needs, feel validated in their struggles, and begin to understand that caring for everyone else is not their responsibility. With clients of all ages, I aim to be a steady and supportive presence while respecting that you are the expert on your own life.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy watching new movies, going for walks, swimming, planning activities with my one-year-old nephew, and reading new Sarah J. Maas releases.
